The objective of this recommended practice is to establish consistent formats and uniform quality criteria for microfilming printed newspapers. Its scope is limited to filming done on planetary cameras (using 35mm silver-gelatin roll film) for purposes of archival preservation and for the production of service copies intended for permanent collections.
